LPW - Dent, 61 Strand, London, Watchmaker to the Queen, lever fusee, 40mm, 18K gold original consular HC bearing London hallmarks for 1865, incuse "W.F" marking possibly for casemaker William Francis, white enamel dial, KWKS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, 11J, diamond endstone, gilt mvt, s#31668 with matching serial number to dial and within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 38.9 dwt (60.5 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, occasionally ticks for a few seconds and then stops again, overhaul needed, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with few short micro-fine scratches; flawless dial; nearly mint hands; case shows very light wear, no dents or dings, engraving detail with mild reduction which is most evident at shoulders; tight bow; good glass crystal.
